The Studio Ghibli Structures Exhibition ( ジブリの立体建造物展 ) is a showcase of the architecture, buildings and landscapes that appear in the studio’s numerous films like Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro, Castle In The Sky and Ponyo, bought to life through a combination of miniatures, dioramas, background paintings, sketches and more.
Ghibli’s art exhibitions have always been nothing short of amazing, like the Kazuo Oga’s Background Art Exhibition and the Layout Designs Exhibition, so I’m very sure this one will impress as well.

The exhibition is held at the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum in Koganei, a stone’s throw away from Studio Ghibli itself and will be on till the 14th of December 2014; tickets are on sale at the exhibition venue. If you’re planning a Japan trip in the coming few months I highly recommend you put this on your itinerary.
I’ll likely be in Tokyo in late October visiting friends and for some autumn photography so I’m looking forward to visiting the exhibition myself.
